The gospel has nothing to do with feelings or emotions, it is all about Jesus. When we become followers of Christ who share this gospel with others, we are facilitators of the truth. We are not without sin, but the beauty of God using us in spite of who we are once we surrender to Jesus, is that He is more clearly seen. Christians who seek to serve God by sharing His grace with the world are broken vessels carrying living water to those He loves.

Paul encourages believers to continue doing what is right in the eyes of Jesus. When we partner together as a body for the glory of Christ, we sacrifice our flesh for the Spirit that keeps us in sync. There is true freedom in Christ when we completely surrender to Him.

Grasping the level of sacrifice, obedience and love it took to rescue our rebel hearts to Christ causes us to feel the weight of our sin. This is an obvious contradiction of the thought we want to hold so tightly to, "I am a pretty good person." We clearly see in the light of truth, we need God. Life is meaningless without purpose and scripture speaks in truth to what our purpose is. Isaiah 43:7 says we were made by God for His glory.
Surrendering to Christ as Lord leads to repentance and a deep hunger for the things of God. Keith leads us in a talk that challenges us to search our own hearts and see what we are hungering for in our own lives. A true follower of Jesus will actively seek opportunites to be used for the glory of Christ. We will hunger and thirst for righteousness in our lives while we are led by the Spirit to walk through doors He is opening for us along the way.

Elisha, a Spirit led prophet of God, makes nourishing what would have otherwise been poison for the people. Just as the wild gourds were unfit for the men to eat without Elisha's help, our best intentions will ultimately be our demise without Christ leading us. The flour Elisha put in the stew provided a way for the people to eat in a time of great famine. Jesus' blood is the way God provided a rescue for our wicked hearts to be rescued and restored. Just as God moved in the heart of Elisha for the people, He moves in the hearts of those He calls today.

In our continued series "Appetite", we are faced with a question that forces us to take an honest look at our life and the main focus of it, "What in your life is hindering you from having an intimate relationship with God?"
There are so many things in our lives that shift our focus away from God. It is crucial in our pursuit of Christ to step away from things that distract us from the things of God and the calling He has placed on each of us.

"Oh How He..." hurt for us. All of the events in the life of Jesus leading to Resurrection Sunday prove He loves us more than we can fully comprehend. It also clearly shows us how much He not only physically hurt in our place to pay our debt, it shows the emotional pain He experienced to fulfill God's will to rescue us from ourselves.
Because He is alive, we have hope.

Would you trade everything for a moment of satisfaction? What you are hungry for will determine the outcome of your life and, ultimately, your eternity. All of us have to understand if we hunger for the things of God, we will love others and seek to serve them in the Name of Christ.
God's desire for us is to depend totally on Him and lean into His faithfulness for direction in our lives. Jesus paid the ultimate price for our freedom and it is a gift from God that we never hunger for the things of this world again. Only Christ can satisfy the hunger of a repentant heart and supply for us the Bread of Life.

As we begin a new series, Keith dives straight in and shows us in God's Word where sin originated. Scripture shows how sin originates in our mind and leads to the action of carrying it out. God in all His love and mercy extends the pair an invitation to turn away from sin and confess what had happened with the serpent in the garden.
God offers you and I the same grace through the love He extended each of us through Christ's sacrifice for our sins. Jesus is ever present in every part of God's Word and He is ever present in our lives today. The invitation still stands and God still desires for each person to turn away from the appetite of this world that kills our soul and run to Him for rescue.

In our new series, "Oh how He loves..." we see Jesus loving us right in the middle of our most sinful and desperate moments from the very start. The radical and uninhibited love of Christ is life changing. To be the recipient of the kind of love that is ever present in your most painful and shameful times will give you the strength to walk in faith with Jesus. He loves us at our lowest and He wants all of us.
