Simple Church

Jesus didn't just heal people physically; He gave them a new life.  For one blind man, his boldness in respose to Christ healing him give us the courage to tell the truth no matter the circumstance.

Peter is proof that we are all screw ups.  We are all broken.  What we have to determine is if we are broken vessels or if we are the mockers that don't know Him at all.

There's a difference between religious activity and an actual renewal through Jesus Christ.  Religious activity will get you no where.  What Jesus was interested in was never the religious activity; He was interested in the heart.

You don't have to be paralyzed thinking about how to reach them all.  Reach the one.  Jesus used what was right in front of Him to reach one at a time.  Then the next.  Then the next.  We have to go just like Jesus did.

How short-sighted would it have been if Jesus came only to get rid of the Romans?  How short-sighted is it to ask that only the things we can see be fixed right now?  The message of he angels the night Jesus was born was, "Do not be afraid!"  That changed everything!

We can try to simplify our faith to a list of dos and don'ts.  Just avoiding sin isn't the goal.  The goal is to look at what Jesus did, and follow Him.

God was always their sustainer, even when they walked away from God. They were in great misery because of their sin, but God was faithful when they were not.  So they committed themselves to following the Lord, and put great consequences on them selves if they turned away.
